Hypha vs TurboBatch
Hypha and TurboBatch both track mushroom batches from inoculation to harvest. TurboBatch is a web console for commercial farms that reads AC Infinity controllers today. Hypha is a native app for advanced hobbyists and microfarms, with its own sensor on the way.

How do Hypha and TurboBatch compare?
Hypha and TurboBatch differ most in live climate data, team workflows and pricing. The table puts the details side by side.
| Feature | Hypha | TurboBatch |
|---|---|---|
| Platforms | iOS and Android apps, plus the web app. | A web console in any browser, plus a free iPhone and iPad companion app. No Android app is mentioned. |
| Account | A free account; no credit card. | Required; you make it on the web, and the iPhone app is sign-in only. |
| Free plan | Free forever: 1 monitored zone, 25 active blocks, 7 days of environmental data, grow tracking and a photo journal. Monitored zones and environmental data need Hypha Aeris (closed beta, not for sale yet); grow tracking works without it. | Free with no card and no time limit: 1 farm, 1 seat, 10 active batches, 2 locations, weekly reports and live AC Infinity sensors. |
| Paid plans | Pro is $12 a month and Farm $25 a month plus $15 per extra user (USD). Every new account starts with a 60-day Pro trial, no card needed. | Starter $9.99 a month (3 seats, 50 active batches), Entrepreneur $14.99 (10 seats, 150 batches), Multi-Farm $29.95 (3 farms, 25 seats, unlimited batches) and custom Enterprise. |
| Live climate data | Its own sensor, Hypha Aeris (CO₂, temperature, humidity), isn't for sale yet; reservations are planned for 2027. The app works without it. | Reads temperature, humidity and CO₂ from AC Infinity controllers, cloud to cloud with no extra hardware, on every plan. |
| Contamination | Tag blocks as suspect or contaminated, and see each strain's contamination rate. | Each removed bag is logged as contaminated, a mistake or no yield, with loss analytics per strain. |
| Strains and lineage | A family tree linking each culture, spawn bag and block to its parent. | Strain profiles for 23 species plus custom strains. Culture lineage isn't mentioned. |
| Costs | Inventory and recipes on every plan; cost per fresh pound on Pro and Farm. | From Entrepreneur up: set a cost per bag and a sale price per pound to see harvest value and money lost. |
| Labels | QR labels that open a block in the app. | QR labels on Avery 48660 sheets that open the batch. |
| Teams | The Farm plan adds a shared farm with Manager, Grower and Viewer roles. | Manager and Operator roles, with each action credited to a person. Seats depend on the plan. |
| Data export | Export my data, in Profile & settings: a .zip of CSV files, with photos optional. | Download My Data exports farm, batch, strain, location and account data in one file. |
| Built for | Advanced hobbyists running many strains, and microfarms ready to scale. | Commercial mushroom growers. |
| Company | Demeter Mycolabs LLC, Tijeras, New Mexico. | CalyxBox LLC, Gurnee, Illinois. |

When is TurboBatch the better fit?
TurboBatch is likely the better choice in these cases:
- You already run AC Infinity controllers and want their readings beside your batches today.
- You run a commercial farm with several staff and want daily email reports.
- You manage more than one farm from one account.
When is Hypha the better fit?
Hypha is likely the better choice in these cases:
- You want native iOS and Android apps, not a browser console with an iPhone companion.
- You want a family tree for every culture, spawn bag and block, and a photo journal for each grow.
- You're an advanced hobbyist or a microfarm, and want 250 active blocks on Pro for $12 a month, with a 60-day free trial.
What happens to my grow data in Hypha?
Hypha shows your grows only to you and to teammates on a shared farm, unless you or a teammate who can edit the grow turns on its public link. Demeter Mycolabs doesn't sell your data, and doesn't share your identifiable data with other companies for their own advertising or model training. Hypha is cloud-based, so Demeter Mycolabs can technically access backend data for things like debugging, support and improving the platform. You can download your records as CSV files at any time, from Profile & settings → Privacy & data → Export my data. The privacy policy and data processing terms spell out the rest.
Do I have to subscribe to use Hypha?
No. Hypha's Free plan is free forever and needs no credit card. Pro and Farm are optional paid plans. If you upgrade, you can cancel anytime: you drop back to Free, and your grow data stays. Paid plans are billed through Stripe, from your Hypha account on the web. See Hypha pricing for the limits on each plan.
