Hypha Aeris Mushroom grow room sensor

Status as of October 2026: Hypha Aeris is a CO₂, temperature and humidity sensor in a closed, application-only beta. It isn't for sale; reservations and production are planned for 2027, with no ship month set.

Real-time environmental monitoring for mushroom cultivation. CO₂, temperature, and humidity — all connected to the Hypha app.

Know exactly what's happening in your grow room, 24/7. Get instant alerts when conditions drift outside optimal ranges.

Aeris tells you what your grow is doing. It doesn't change it — no fan or humidifier switching. Controllers are on the Demeter Mycolabs roadmap.

    What Does Aeris Monitor?

Hypha Aeris reports CO₂, temperature, and humidity at launch. Beta units also show particulate readings (PM1.0–PM10) in the Hypha app today.

    CO₂ Levels

The Sensirion SEN66 module reads CO₂ from 0 to 40,000 ppm, with accuracy specified for 400–5,000 ppm (specs below). Essential for triggering fruiting and preventing leggy mushrooms.

    Temperature

The bare SEN66 module is specified to ±0.45 °C typical at 15–30 °C and 50 %RH (specs below). Know where you stand for each strain.

    Humidity

Relative humidity tracking to keep your fruiting chamber in the sweet spot and prevent contamination.

    Air Quality

Beta units already show particulate readings (PM1.0–PM10) in the Hypha app. Those readings are part of the beta, not a promised launch feature.

    How Does Aeris Work?

Place Hypha Aeris in your grow space, connect it to WiFi through the Hypha app, then watch live readings and get alerts when conditions need attention.

    1. Place Sensor

Put Hypha Aeris in your grow room, tent, or fruiting chamber

    2. Connect WiFi

Quick setup via the Hypha app — no hub required

    3. Monitor Live

    What Hardware Is Inside Aeris?

Hypha Aeris pairs a Sensirion SEN66 sensor module with an ESP32 microcontroller. Mushroom grows are hard on sensors, with high humidity, elevated CO₂ and spore-heavy air. The specs below are Sensirion's published figures for the module.

    Sensor Stack

At the heart of Hypha Aeris is the Sensirion SEN66, an integrated environmental sensor module. At launch, Aeris reports the module's CO₂, temperature and relative humidity readings to the Hypha app.

The SEN66 also has a particulate sensor. Beta units already show its PM1.0–PM10 readings in the Hypha app. Those readings are part of the beta, not a promised launch feature. Particulate data could help gauge airflow quality and support research into sporulation patterns or elevated spore loads. We're building a platform, not just a sensor.

CO₂ range0–40,000 ppm output range. Accuracy is specified only from 400 to 5,000 ppm.
CO₂ accuracy±(50 ppm + 2.5% of reading) at 400–1,000 ppm; ±(50 ppm + 3% of reading) at 1,001–2,000 ppm; ±(40 ppm + 5% of reading) at 2,001–5,000 ppm. Typical. Needs continuous operation with automatic self-calibration on, and clean air at about 400 ppm CO₂ at least once a week. Reached after a forced recalibration, or 2 days of operation that include clean air. Sensirion guarantees its gas-sensing specs only when the module is operated and stored within the recommended conditions in the datasheet.
    Temperature accuracy±0.45 °C typical, ±0.7 °C max. At 15–30 °C and 50 %RH.

    Reliable Connectivity

Hypha Aeris runs on the ESP32 microcontroller — a proven, widely-used platform known for rock-solid WiFi connectivity and the flexibility to improve over time through software updates.

Planned in the box (Gen 1)

Aeris sensor and a 3 meter silicone USB-C cable. You'll need a standard USB-C wall adapter — not included — and an outlet within reach of your grow. Aeris runs on continuous power, not batteries.

    Custom Threshold Alerts

Set your own thresholds for temperature, humidity, and CO2, and get push notifications when conditions drift so you can act before problems develop. Strain-tuned profiles with recommended conditions for popular species are coming in a future update.

    Hypha App Integration

Seamlessly connects with the Hypha app. View sensor data alongside your grow logs, photos, and lineage tracking — all in one place.

    WiFi Connected

No separate hub or gateway needed. Hypha Aeris connects directly to your WiFi network for simple, reliable data streaming to the cloud.

    Historical Data

Track trends over time. See how your environment changes throughout the day, week, or entire grow cycle. Learn what works and replicate success.

Hypha Aeris isn't for sale yet; reservations are planned for 2027. Demeter Mycolabs is aiming for around $160 at full retail for Gen 1, though final pricing isn't set yet.

Hypha Aeris isn't planned to ship outside the United States at first. First production is planned for the US, and the current beta round takes US applicants only. It isn't for sale yet; reservations are planned for 2027.

We're a small startup building early-generation hardware. We want to avoid devices getting delayed or tied up in customs for long periods while we're still iterating quickly on the product.

Customs delays are one reason interoperability and external sensor APIs matter to us long term. We want international growers to be able to use Hypha software and eventually connect their own hardware where possible.

We absolutely hope to expand international hardware availability in the future as manufacturing and logistics stabilize.

Not yet. Today Hypha reads environment data only from its own sensor, Hypha Aeris (closed beta, not for sale yet). Grow tracking works without any sensor.

Interoperability is something we care about a lot. We're building Hypha Aeris first so we can move quickly and tightly integrate the experience. Longer term, we plan to provide APIs so growers can report external sensor data into Hypha and build their own integrations.

Some ecosystems are easier to integrate with than others depending on whether they expose public APIs.
